Holmes Lawn & Pest FAQ

Does Holmes offer removal of mice and other rodents?

Yes, we do!

Do you require Contracts?

No! We do not require you to sign a contract for any of our services. We believe in working with people who want our services because they know we do good work, not because we locked them into a contract.

7 applications seems like a lot, why so many?

It’s important to receive the proper nutrients consistently throughout the year. Each application also offers different products in it such as pre-emergent, liquid dethatch, and aeration to get the best results throughout the year.

Can I get just pest control sprayed on my lawn?

We do not spray our pest control on the lawn, however if you are experiencing issues with lawn grubs such as sod web worm we do offer pesticide but not as a standalone service since pesticide is something we actually include in our fertilization and weed control program.

How often are the applications applied?

Our applications are spaced at around 6 weeks in between each application.

Is this safe for my pets?

It is! The products we use are organic and safe for pets. We do still recommend keeping pets off the yard for at least an hour though to give it time to dry.

Do I have to get all 7 applications?

We only offer our 7 application package and when you sign up we expect to come out for all remaining applications in the season. However, you are not required to do all 7 and are able to cancel or skip applications but at that point we won’t be able to guarantee our service. This means we won’t offer free spot sprays if an application is skipped/cancelled.

How often will I receive Fertilization applications?

Anywhere between 4-6 weeks.

Can I sign up for weed control without lawn fertilization?

Unfortunately no, We only offer our weed control services when paired with our lawn fertilization services.

Questions about your Lawn

What is the difference between liquid aeration and core aeration?

Liquid aeration is a healthier way of aerating. It creates microfractures in the lawn, allowing the soil to breathe. It also is much safer because it doesn’t use heavy machinery it doesn’t run the risk of spreading fungus from lawn to lawn or breaking sprinkler heads.

What is liquid dethatch?

Liquid dethatch organically breaks down the thatch layer that builds up on top of your soil and put’s those nutrients back into the soil.

What weeds will weed control take care of?

The weed control will take care of just about all weeds in your lawn, however some weeds can be rather resilient so we may need to come back out after a couple weeks and spray again to get rid of any remaining weeds.

Should I water my lawn right after an application?

If you want to see the best results watering your lawn within 24 hours of application will produce the best results.

It typically takes about 10-14 days for weeds to start withering and dying. It usually takes a little longer still before they are completely gone.
